University degree? Why bother?

Four Reasons for a University Degree

Employability.

There was a time when the trend was to employ those who had experience over those who had education. That trend is rapidly evaporating as companies want employees that can fill multiple roles.

A degree makes you more valuable to future employers, plain and simple.

Financial Gains.

The principal reason that you ought to consider a college degree is the way that it will generously build your earning potential.

On the off chance that nothing else engages you, this is commonly the one reason that a great many people come back to class after years in the work place.

If nothing else appeals to you, this is typically the one reason that most people return to school after years in the work place.  If you are in high school and haven’t really had to deal with the bills and responsibilities that many adults face it’s difficult to explain how important any edge when it comes to earning ability truly is.

However, you should be aware that you need to choose your major wisely if money is your sole motivation. Not all careers pay equally when compare to the education required to enter them.

Similarly, not all universities produce great results.    Research your options carefully.    You want to good return on your investment.

Insurance.

A college degree is perhaps the best insurance you can find as far as employment goes. Having a university degree gives you a competitive edge over those who do not.   You can get more work and better work.   That’s a kind of stability.

Remember, that the critical piece is completing your degree.    Just attending college doesn’t provide any protection.

Maturity.

For many, going to college is a chance to grow up and start becoming responsible.   Not everyone embraces this aspect or takes advantage of this feature.    However, living on your own is something you ultimately want to learn to do right.

Think about it.   You want to grow up and be successful at adulthood.

Social Support.

College allows you network and meet new people.   If your school is a good match, you will likely find others who are both similar and different from you.    Ideally, you can develop social connections that will last for years beyond.

Confidence.

There is nothing very like having confidence in yourself.

Getting a four-year education is one way to build confidence not only on a personal level but also on a professional level.    This is the top reason for going after a university degree.    A degree should make you a better person.     As a result, you will spark your potential to be more.

You probably have your own reasons.    Embrace yourself in those reasons.   College is overwhelming and disillusioning.    To withstand your internal doubts, you must know your own reasons and motivations.
